A Commitment Revisited

Hi Guys and Gals!

Actually it would be interesting to know if there are any men that read my blog but I digress... This blog post is long overdue. About one year ago, I was recruited to do a workout video with a co-worker at my former job. I had just starting working there and it was not a huge surprise that an opportunity like this would present itself in an environment like that. I committed to helping out a friend and what that meant was I trained almost everyday for like two months straight. I had to learn the routine! As a result we created a workout video that I have included it for you all to watch, enjoy and hopefully feel motivated to work out. I lost 15lbs and felt rejuvenated but like so many others I lost my motivation and gained the weight back.

I have decided to revisit my commitment to live a healthy life. I am eating good food and exercising because its not about losing weight its about getting the most out of life, being responsible. I have started a pretty hardcore cleansing- flushing out the toxins from my body which has helped me to quit smoking and I feel great. You can call it a pre-midlife crisis...this year I turn 37 and I hope to live for a very long time but with the stress of everyday life, without a healthy lifestyle I won't make it and that is why I am getting back on track. So, this is a celebration and a commitment that I want to share with everyone! I hope you enjoy the video..I have also included some photos from the taping of the video as well. It was a huge challenge to get through the recording but I did it and so can you!

I can't remember which day or at what time this photo was taken but the fact that I was able to smile meant that it was early!
We had a physical trainer on the set to make sure that we performed the exercises properly
We had to film our workout from many different angles and the crew shot multiple takes!- It was crazy!
They did closeup shots of some the more grueling exercises...It was tough!
We did have some breaks and time to rest a bit but not for long!
I met some incredible people and it was reassuring that we had professional on location making sure that we were doing it right.
Bosse and I striking a pose! Bosse was AWESOME!
Cool to watch them filming live and seeing it through the monitors.
Filming the final meditation sequence....that one was not a problem!
I saw this on a bag and was inspired...doing the video was scary but I did it!

Inspiration

The secret to my expat lifestyle is my positive thinking approach to life. Life is tough when you live thousands of miles away from home and you never really know when you might get back for a visit. It is extremely important to honor your individual strengths and special-ness everyday but when you are living in a different culture, its vital. I would not say that I am merely surviving my life here in Sweden. I am thriving, appreciating life and doing things that I want to do. Despite all this, on those dark cold rainy lonely days its good to know that I have a foundation of positive that I can rely on.
I seek inspiration in everything and everyone that I meet....it helps me and I hope this post inspires you as well. Hugs, KyanainSweden

Book Recommendation

Battlefield Of The MindBattlefield Of The Mind by Joyce Meyer
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

I have read this book a couple of times and I usually read it once a year or so...helps keep me on the right positive track! The secret to keeping the demons at bay.

If you are going through a tough time, I highly recommend adding this book to your "self-help" book collection. Mind you, I am a total "self-help" book junkie!

Waiting in vain?

I am not superstitious when it comes to sharing my feelings about wanting to have a baby. For a very long time I have not even allowed myself to consider the possibility of having another child because it never seemed to be the right time. I have been studying and working/interning for years and I just wanted to get some work experience under my belt first. Now, that I have started my own business- working in this capacity will give me the flexibility to balance my personal life with my professional life and the smallest little thought of another baby has grown into a deep desire. SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO what does that mean? Well, its scary now that I am over 35...new risks are involved and new challenges as well. We shall see if this is going to happen for our family but I remain hopeful. I personally believe in miracles and I don't think it will take a miracle for us to have a baby. I have started to research and also collect photos on Pinterest. My board is called Born at the Right Time and there you will be able to see photos that I have collected that just exude Motherhoodness (I know that is not a word).

Here is a photo that is currently my favorite showing a mother with a little baby and her older child just caught in a really tender moment.

You can probably expect posts about this now since I have "baby on the brain". Stay with me readers because this is what is happening to Kyana in Sweden!

Never Gonna GIve You UP!

Davis Marketing Strategy HQ
I won't try to recap the last few months- it has been a real emotional rollercoaster. At the end of March, I gave up my position as International Business Manager at Mynewsdesk, to instead, start my own company because I wanted to work with those things that I feel passionate about but also have a bit more flexibility in my schedule. Starting a company in Sweden is relatively simple. There are numerous organizations that help people getting started. The real challenge is finding customers but if you communicate a passion for what you offer that too can go relatively easy as well.
I have a blog dedicated to my company at  http://davismarketingstrategy.wordpress.com

Its summer now and we are in the South of Sweden working on our house. I have a blog that I have dedicated to just that project at http://kyanainsweden.tumblr.com/ -its called KyanainSweden- The Renovation Project. Renovating a house is fun and we have actually fallen in love with every plank and nail. Its our life project. We have actually had a chance to stay here for a few weeks in a row and the obsession just grows stronger.

I decided to resuscitate this blog because there are things that I would like to share that don't really fit in the renovation blog or my company blog...just stuff from my life and personal journey.

I hope you have missed me because I have really missed writing in this blog. There are some other life changes on the way but its a bit too soon to make the big reveal. I just wanted to get started and let you know what's been going on and let you know that all is well with KyanainSweden.

In August my family will be traveling to Italy to celebrate a dear friend's birthday...its going to be amazing to see my friends again and reconnect with them.

So you see...its only getting better!

Skåne- Southern Sweden Video

In the South of Sweden there is a region called Skåne...its a special place with its own unique history and dialect, just like most places. My favorite thing about Skåne is how close it is to Blekinge! I hope you enjoy the video! Hugs! Kyanainsweden

A Great Start to 2012

Ok...so if you know anything about me then you understand how much I love my job. I work in sales and its been a bit of a slow start. What I love the most are the people that I come into contact with everyday and building relationships with my customers. I have almost weekly meetings with some of them and I feel like what I sell helps them achieve their goals!! I work towards US and Canada from Sweden and that is quite a challenge but things are starting to happen!

Yesterday, I landed two contracts within a few hours of each other and it was so Amazing...our company has an internal Facebook group that I shared my achievement and the response was astounding. Although the US Team officially consists of three people I had Congrats coming at me from all our offices and it was so inspiring.

So, today I am a Happy Camper....deals are being made and goals are being achieved and I am feeling all warm and fuzzy, despite the weather.

Just wanted to share some of my joy from this week.

Going Back to School- På Distans

Hi Everyone!

I promised myself that after the new year I would sign up for Swedish writing classes in order to continue to develop my professional skills. I am very happy with my job and the start of my career here in Sweden but it dawned on me that working towards an English speaking market can also limit my opportunities in a Swedish sales organization. Of course, Stockholm offers an international work environment but what if we move? What if my husband finds an opportunity outside of Stockholm, the reality is that we have to be flexible in order to survive and perfecting my Swedish writing skills gives me that flexibility.

So, I will sign up for an online course and start with my classes. I might even write some blog posts in Swedish but I promise to have both languages so I don't lose my english speaking readers....that would be my Mom! But seriously I think this is the right decision and considering the amount of work I have it will be challenge but in a few years who knows what life will offer me. Considering that we don't have any plans on leaving Sweden, I have to assume that the opportunities will only be better if I can write på svenska!

Curious about the class? Check out Folkuniversitetet Swedish writing classes!
